One of the greatest moments for a published author is when you’re asked to talk about your book on the radio. Last week, I had the opportunity to be featured on Feisty Side of Fifty Radio, despite being ONLY 49 3/4.
How to Be a Guest on Blog Talk Radio
Mary Eileen Williams, the host, and I discovered that we shared the same birthday. I figured she felt sorry for me and allowed me to be on her show since everybody knows that a December birthday absolutely sucks.
And for this gig, I could wear my pajamas.
What’s Feisty Side of Fifty*
Hello and welcome to THE FEISTY SIDE OF FIFTY,™ the site that celebrates a truly remarkable generation of women. We alpha boomers, now fifty plus but nowhere near matronly, are rockin’ on and still flaunting our famously bodacious spirit and style.
In truth, how could it be otherwise? We ladies can be deservedly proud of our shared history and far-reaching accomplishments. The determined women of our generation drove through legislation that reversed centuries of discrimination and forever altered the role of being born female in this country. (A rather formidable triumph, I might add!) Better yet, the hormonal changes of menopause make us saucier and more outspoken than ever before. We are truly coming into our own in new and exciting ways.* Copied from feistysideoffifty.com.
Give her fifteen minutes
I met Mary Eileen Williams two years ago at a book signing for Not Your Mother’s Book…On Being a Woman at Towne Center Books. She’s a gregarious, supportive and feisty lady who interviews boomers on her show. Give her fifteen minutes and her boomers will inspire. I am honored to be part of her cast.
She made me feel comfortable from her first question, “Tell us about the book and what prompted you to write it.”

I listened to the interview last week and enjoyed it very much. The interviewer was charming and Ms Gustafson easy to listen to. It’s fun to hear we are not alone on the journey to through the 50s. When can we find other books by Gustafson?
Thanks. It was such a fun opportunity to be on the radio. Feisty Side of Fifty Radio is filled with hundreds of fabulous interviews. Try it out. And I’m working on two books now, thanks for asking.
