10 Reasons to Love/Hate The Bachelor Ben Higgins

Reasons to Love/Hate The Bachelor Ben Higgins10 Reasons to Love/Hate the Bachelor Ben Higgins Stacey Gustafson

Hate: You Told Two Women, “I love you”

Worst. Decision. Ever. And because of that, Lauren B./Jojo will remind you of it for the rest of your life. Trust me on this. Women never forget. You had so many opportunities to say it without cameras during the Fantasy Suite Night. Even Chris Harrison nearly pooped his pants. Oh, Ben. Watch https://www.whipclip.com/video/qxq87

Hate: Brainwashed by Olivia

Why, oh, why did that bossy big mouth, Olivia, so easily seduce you? Sure, she’s a 23-year-old news anchor, poised and intelligent. But when she jumped out of that cake in a belly-dancing outfit, you had to scream cuckoo. She’s too aggressive for you Ben. Ask your mom.

Hate: Kept Amanda Too Long

A mom of two kids under five should be focused on her kids, not a reality television show. Ben, I think your naiveté showed through when it came to this flaxen haired beauty. Come on! At 25, did you really think you were ready for instant fatherhood? I’ll let this one slide. You’re a nice guy but when you’re rewatching the show, check out the expression on your face every time those kids cried. That said it all.

Hate: Twins? Why?

Why didn’t you run the other way when Haley and Emily’s occupation said, “Twins.” I think you suspected that they were going to be a two for one deal. These two weren’t ever going to be able to function without the other. Ben, go with your gut instincts.

Hate: Never Let Chris Harrison Plan A Date

Having Kevin Hart/Ice Cube on a date with Caila was the dumbest idea ever. Why did you let the network talk you into this ridiculous plan? Those two clowns in the backseat during your one-on-one date with Caila was a flop. To future bachelors, “Just say no!”

Reasons to Love/Hate The Bachelor Ben Higgins

Love: Great parents

Ben’s parents seemed like two love birds, normal and really concerned for Ben’s well being. And mom was not afraid to unleash her opinion. Remember her horrified face after she asked Twin #2, “What do you like to do?” Emily replied, “I could watch movies all day long.” Get out the paddles! Mom almost flat-lined.

Love: Make-out sessions

He didn’t flaunt locked lips around the other gals. He carefully pulled each one aside, out of the immediate eyeshot of others. He couldn’t help it when the nosy single ladies spied as he planted kisses on other longhaired beauties. On Ellen DeGeneres he said, “You are kissing multiple people in one night … it does kind of mess with your mind a little bit sometimes. Because you are with somebody and you enjoy that moment and then you get up and walk to the next. And it makes you feel really weird. It’s not something I want to get used to.” Hmmm, no kidding.

Love: Good With Kids

The way Ben handled the kids at his hometown youth center was genuine and touching. You know what they say about a guy who hates kids? Well, he hates kids and probably puppies too. This guy seems like the real deal.

Love: He’s Not Full of Himself

Unlike Bachelors before, he did not spend an unusual amount of time applying sunscreen or flexing his muscles.

Love: Tattoo

Remember that tattoo you keep getting glimpses of? It’s Proverbs 16:3, which reads, “commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” Just wow.

Bottom-line, America loves Ben. He singlehandedly ruined it for all the other courting bachelors. After twenty seasons of The Bachelor, one guy finally rocked it. Sure, he made a few mistakes but we will be measuring all future bachelors against your new standard.

About staceygustafson

  1. I love your observations, Stacey!
I think we could be Bachelor Watching Buddies, for sure.
    I’ll pop the popcorn.

  2. I’m very interesting in seeing how Ben negotiates his final decision. Generally, he’s been as diplomatic as possible (given the absurd situation). But he’s really painted himself into a corner here. I hope that he and his now fiance can work through all this and enjoy a mutually benefiting relationship.

I’m betting on Lauren since Jojo’s brothers are causing problems. It’s fun to watch but prob such a bad way to start a relationship. The show has been over since November!!
